If you have an interest in bio-rhythms, this science cafe is for you!

Speaker: Dr Antony Dodd, Bristol University.

Antony Dodd’s laboratory investigates processes in plant cells that give rise to circadian rhythms and adapt plants to the daily fluctuating environment. Circadian rhythms have a really pervasive effect upon plant life, from controlling the daily opening of flowers to the amount of starch in cells and the season that crops are harvested.

Some of the research is fundamental science, and some is focused upon practical agricultural applications.

    Come and join the discussion!
Are there links with bio-rhythms in ourselves (are you a night owl or early bird)?
What are the implications of this work for agriculture?
